Suzan and her granddaughter, Eloise Bird, started telling stories to each other in 2017. In the dark, during the tradition of reading a bedtime story whenever Gram Gram was visiting, the four Jolly Penguin Brothers were born: Bo, Go, Jo and Mo. The story of the Jolly Brothers grew into a few books, and so it had begun.

Suzan lived and worked at McMurdo Station, in Antarctica, during the 2017-2018 austral summer season, photographing the Adélie Penguins and illustrating them for the Jolly books. She now resides in the North Georgia Mountains, and Eloise lives nearby with her mommy, daddy and little brother. 

Eloise and her Gram Gram continue telling their stories and hope you enjoy them as much as they do. Thank you for reading and sharing our adventures with Molly and the Jolly Brothers.
